Hyderabad: Three Nigerians who were possessing fake visas were arrested by the police at Banjara Hills here on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, the sleuths of the South Zone team apprehended the Nigerian nationals Chris Chibuzor Nwabkqo, 47, Eledimmuo Okwudili Augustine, 27, and Awoke Onyebuchi Malachy, 29, who had been staying in India on forged visas and for violating the norms of Foreigners Act, 1946.

“Chris Chibuzor Nwabkqo was neither having a passport, visa nor a residential permit and was previously involved in violation of Foreigners Act, 1946,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, B Limba Reddy said.
The other two came to India on business and tourist visas. They stayed in the country illegally despite the expiry of their visas, and secured forged visas from Nigeria with the help of one Ben, a Nigerian, he said.
The accused along with the seized passports were handed over to the Banjara Hills police station for further investigation.
