Siddipet (Medak): Telangana NGOs Association President Devi Prasad said that the centre should not impose any riders on Hyderabad and warned that they would fight and would go to any extent to thwart any moves to make Hyderabad a Union Territory.

Speaking to the media in Siddipet town on Tuesday, Devi Prasad said that they would oppose any move to include Bhadrachalam in the Seemandhra region and added that the temple town of Lord Rama was an integral part of the Telangana region.

He accused the Seemandhra leaders of trying to kidnap Lord Rama and the people of Telangana would not allow it to happen under any circumstances.

He said that the TNGOs would extend their support to the Chalo Bhadrachalam programme on November 25 to prevent it from getting merged in the Andhra region.
He said rallies and public meetings would be held on that day to highlight the issue.
Devi Prasad said that people from different parts of the country were living happily in the cosmopolitan city of Hyderabad and wondered as to why the people of Seemandhra area were feeling so insecure.
He said that the interests of the tribal people should be protected as hundreds of them would be displaced or submerged if the Polavaram project was taken up.
The girijans would lose their lands and source of livelihood, he said. He appealed to the centre not to take the reports submitted by the Chief Minister seriously.
