Hyderabad: The Telangana Gazetted Officers Association president, V Srinivas Goud, has alleged that moves are afoot for shifting the relics of Telangana history and archaeological relics to Seemandhra at the instance of some of the officials.

Addressing media persons on Tuesday, Srinivas Goud said that the representatives of TGOs met Chief Secretary P K Mohanty, seeking steps to check such activities. He claimed that they had information about shifting of the cannon balls of Golconda and other archaeological articles to Seemandhra. Referring to media reports that the left bank of Srisailam belonged to Seemandhra, he said that Sunnipenta, Domapenta and other areas were very much part of Telangana during the Nizam’s rule, and there was no question of alienating the areas to Seemandhra.

He alleged that the officials of Kurnool district had sent the report on Srisailam left bank at the instance of higher officials. “Mahabubnagar would turn into a desert if the left bank of Srisailam is merged with Seemandhra,” he said. The TGOs expressed concern over the alleged tampering of the original records and the maps identifying the limits of Telangana before its merger with Andhra Pradesh. Stating that the Seemandhra leaders had been making efforts to stall the Telangana formation, he threatened that the Seemandhra people in Hyderabad would face problems if they did not refrain from such activities.

On interim relief and 10th Pay Revision Commission (PRC), he said that the TGOs requested the government to announce 45 per cent interim relief immediately as the report of PRC was being delayed.
