CM: Division will cause plethora of problems

Chittoor: Reiterating his stand against the bifurcation of the State, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said on Sunday that the State should not be divided as it was against the aspirations of the people.
Addressing a gathering at the Rachabanda programme in V Kota village in Chittoor district, he termed the bifurcation move as the most unfortunate one, and fervently appealed to the Centre to reconsider its decision.
The state division would lead to many problems in distribution of waters, unemployment, affect the growth besides Telangana facing severe power shortage, he said, adding that the bifurcation would cost the State very dearly. He further said that after the merger of Telangana with Andhra State, the united state had been able to accomplish many major projects like Nagarjuna Sagar. Recalling how Chittoor TDP N Siva Prasad, who was present at the meeting, vociferously argued against the division of the state in parliament, Kiran Kumar wanted his leader Chandrababu, too, to act in the same manner for the Samaikyandhra.
Later, he formally declared open seven newly built sub-stations, laid foundation stones for construction of additional class rooms in the schools in the mandal and other development works like roads, drinking water supply.
After the programme, he proceeded to his native village Kalikiri for an overnight stay. He will leave for Rayachoti in Kadpa district to participate for another Rachabanda on Monday. Minister for Mines and Geology Galla Arunakumari, Congress MLA C K Babu and others were present.
Man dies of heart attack at venue
A 42-year-old man Kulasekhara Naidu died of heart attack an hour before the arrival of the Chief Minister. He hailed from Chinthamakulapalli in V Kota mandal. He suddenly collapsed at the venue and breathed his last while being rushed in an ambulance to hospital.
