Jagan Says Rayala Telangana Meaningless, Rayala Telangana Concept, Krishna Water Dispute. YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday appealed to all floor leaders in Parliament to oppose Centre’s reported move to carve out Rayala Telangana.
Hyderabad: YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday appealed to all floor leaders in Parliament to oppose Centre’s reported move to carve out Rayala Telangana.
Addressing the media here, he criticised that even as the water-sharing dispute had emerged as a major issue, Congress brought to the fore the Rayala Telangana concept which was meaningless and they had no right to split the region, the YSR Congress Party leader said. He said that the fast-paced developments in Delhi indicated that the Congress was hurrying through the division process and did not want the Krishna water dispute to come in the way of the bifurcation.
Jagan alleged that the Centre had shown undue hurry in getting the final decision of the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal on Krishna waters only to go ahead with its agenda of dividing the state without taking into consideration the aspirations of the people of the state in general, and those of the Seemandhra people in particular, he said. He suggested that the Centre merge all 13 districts with Telangana and rename the state as Telangana state. That would solve all the problems, he said.
To meet Jayalalithaa today
Continuing his ‘mission’ to consolidate the support of all national and regional parties against the bifurcation of state, Jaganmohan Reddy would meet Chief minister Jayalalithaa on Wednesday in Chennai. Jagan would explain how the Congress-led UPA government had taken decision to bifurcate the state and will urge her to oppose the Telangana bill in the Parliament.
‘The party said that Jagan would also meet UP Chief Minister Akilesh Yadav in Lucknow and seek his support to his party’s fight against the division of state on December 6.
