Kurnool: An alleged attempt by the infamous Gurivi Reddy gang to leak the VRO and VRA examination papers, with Nandyal as the centre, has been foiled by police. Police arrested 6 persons including Reddy on Saturday. The others are Kiran Kumar, Kalyan, Gone George Emanuel, Gone Devaraju and Ramayanam Dharmateja, who were to appear for Sunday’s examination. Police seized cell phones, Bluetooth equipment and some cash from them.

The six were caught while Reddy was giving a demonstration to some candidates in Nagireddy Apartment at Padmavatinagar in Nandyal. Another main accused Pradeep Reddy, Rajesh (Hyderabad), Kiran (Tirupati) and Kiran (Nandyal) are absconding.Nandyal Two Town police registered a case, based on a complaint lodged by one Akula Chand Basha (22) under Sections 420, 406, 120 (b) read with 34 IPC. Reddy was caught in 2010 in connection with the EAMCET paper leak, along with several associates. He was jailed in Kadapa and Hyderabad in cases registered by the CCS. He was also caught in 2012 for leaking the medical PG entrance test question papers in Chandigarh, along with Gangadhar Reddy of Srikalahasti and others.
The case is being investigated by the CBI. SP K Raghuram Reddy told the media that Gurivi Reddy had mastered the leakage technique while studying MBBS at Shantiram Medical College in Nandyal. Nandyal DSP D Amaranth Naidu, Kurnool CCS Inspector Gummadi Ravikumar, Nandyal One Town SI N V Ramana,head constables S Babu, Maddayya, Ramana, constables A Chandrasekhar, Chinnabbi and Ibrahim were involved in the investigation and arrest of Reddy and others.
