Vijayawada: The CPI has asked the TDP to think on having alliance with the BJP in the next elections.

Addressing the State level convention of the agriculture workers here on Saturday, the CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy found fault with the TD for moving close to the BJP. He said the TDP had apologized to the Minorities for the party’s alliance with the BJP in the past and had pledged not to align with the communal parties in future. However, keeping this promise aside, the TD chief N Chandrababu Naidu was moving close to the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Sudhakar Reddy paid rich tributes to late Chandra Rajeswara Rao (CR). He said that CR was the first leader to raise the issues of the agriculture workers in the country. The land distribution and land reforms were introduced in the country only because of the relentless fights led by CR, he said. The CPI State secretary Dr K Narayana listed out the number of land struggles led by the party in the State and reiterated that the party would continue such struggles till the surplus lands were given to the poor.

The Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Laboruers’ Union affiliated to the Bharateeya Khet Mazdoor Union, leaders Siddhi Venkateswarlu, Nagendranath Ojha, G Mallesh, Jelli Wilson and others were present.
