Hyderabad: Associate Bank Officers’ Association (ABOA) demanded upward revision of salaries which was due from November 1, 2012.

“It is imperative that bank officers and workmen are adequately compensated due to their growing responsibility, transferability and accountability in order to maintain high standards of honesty and integrity, as their job demands, in highly competitive and sensitive sector of the Indian economy,” Harshavardhan Madabhushi, General Secretary, ABOA, SBH, said in a statement.

According to him, four officers’ organizations had submitted a combined Charter of Demands to IBA (Indian Banks’ Association) on October 30, 2012. “Even though one and a half year have passed, no forward movement has taken place with regard our demands except two issues which include effective date of November 1, 2012 and merger of DA at 4440 points,” he explained.

He further said: “There is steep rise in the CPI inflation and the salaries in absolute terms have also been eroded. Consumer price index has already increased by 1501 numbers over 4440 which was prevailing on November 1, 2012”.
