The division of the AP cadre IAS officers between the new State of Telangana and the residuary Andhra Pradesh would be taken care of by a special committee to be constituted by the Centre to deal with the matters of the officers pertaining to All India Services.

Hyderabad: The division of the AP cadre IAS officers between the new State of Telangana and the residuary Andhra Pradesh would be taken care of by a special committee to be constituted by the Centre to deal with the matters of the officers pertaining to All India Services. The State cadre has in all 299 IAS officers at present against the allocated strength of 376. Out of 299 officers, three officers are on deputation in New Delhi and another six officers are undergoing training. Some 77 IAS officers still need to meet the requirement as per the cadre strength allocated by the Centre. The available 299 IAS officers would be divided according to their domicile status and other aspects between the two States.

The State-level committees would not have any role on IAS officers division and the Centre may allocate more officers if any new districts were formed by the two States in their respective areas.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to place all the official decisions taken by it in the public domain as part of moves intended to achieve good governance. The government decided to take the assistance of the Centre for Good Governance by allocating some 30 employees to it. The Centre wanted to use the IAS officers from other State cadres for settling the issues of water, power distribution, distribution of employees and assets. A vigilance committee would also be constituted to keep a vigil on the files being prepared during the bifurcation process.

Likewise, the officials, who were working in these committees, would not be allowed to take the files to their houses during the process.
