New Delhi: BJP president Rajnath Singh on Thursday appointed G Kishan Reddy as Telangana BJP president and K Hari Babu as the Andhra Pradesh BJP president, following the bifurcation of the State. Somu Veeraju has been appointed as the convener of the Andhra Pradesh BJP Election Management Committee.
Recently, the Congress High Command became the first political party to take the decision to set up two separate PCCs for Telangana and the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh. The BJP does not want to be seen to be lagging far behind. It also took the decision to bifurcate the Andhra Pradesh unit in view of the simultaneous Assembly, Parliament, local body and municipal elections.
