Naidu challenges rival parties to discuss who developed T more

Mahabubnagar: The Telugu Desam Party will undertake the responsibility of protecting the interests of Telugus anywhere in the world, and it can alone develop Telangana, asserted its president N Chandrababu Naidu here on Tuesday.

Addressing ‘Praja Garjana’ meeting, he threw a challenge that the party was ready for a debate with anyone on the plank of T development. “The TDP can alone ensure social justice and ‘Nava, Bangaru Telangana. It has a special liking for the region and never opposed the State’s bifurcation’, he stated.

Naidu reiterated that the party would make a BC representative the Chief Minister after the elections, while hoping that the assurance like ‘Rama Banam’ would destroy any opposition and bring the TDP to power in Telangana. He also promised to set up an industrial corridor for Mahabubnagar district and offer employment to a member of every family.

Naidu hit out at TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, calling him ‘undisciplined’ and a ‘robber.’ He alleged that KCR was trying to pocket the wealth created by the TDP regime – “The pink party’s poll win will mean formation of government of ‘doralu’ (high castes).” He claimed that KCR’s family had already selected portfolios to be distributed among themselves.

He said Mahabubnagar district was a fortress for TDP, which alone developed it.

It was also the birth place of great persons. He claimed that BCs, SCs, STs and minorities in the district were backing the TDP.

He alleged that corruption was all pervasive during the 10-year Congress rule and called upon the people to launch a movement against graft. R Krishnaiah, the president of AP State BC Welfare Association, observed that if a BC was to become the Chief Minister, there was no need to take up agitations and struggles – a vote for TDP would be sufficient.

Krishnaiah claimed that Naidu by announcing his resolve to make a BC person the Chief Minister had shown his commitment to the backward classes. He said jobs could be provided in the district if a BC leader headed the government, alleging that Mahabubnagar had suffered under the Congress rule.

“If you vote for cycle (TDP symbol), the postman will deliver the appointment letter,” he quipped. He claimed that there would be adequate irrigation water after the TDP came to power. Alampur MLA Dr Abraham (Congress), along with Satish Madiga, joined TDP in the presence of Naidu.
