Hyderabad: The sudden air dash of Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vivek and his sibling and former minister G Vinod’s to New Delhi has triggered speculation in political circles that they are likely to join Congress party.

Though sources close to them said that their visit to Delhi has no political overtones and that it was purely a personal trip in connection with legal battles of their company, political circles here feel that there was more than what meets the eye.

It may be mentioned here that Ahmed Patel and Digvijay Singh have been sending overtures on behalf of Congress high command asking them to come to the party fold once again. Few days ago Gaddam brothers had openly expressed their unhappiness over TRS for not responding positively to their plea to shift Vinod from earlier decided Bellampalli assembly constituency to Chennur. TRS not giving tickets to candidates recommended by Vivek and Vinod in local bodies elections also led to displeasure amongst them, Vinod, according to sources expressed his reluctance to contest from Bellampalli where CPI floor leader Gunda Mallesh is in the fray and backed with Congress support, he enjoys a slight advantage. In this back drop, Chennur segment would be the safe bet for Vinod. However, TRS faces a big problem to accommodate him in Chennur since the party has a sitting MLA in the form of Nallala Odelu there.

Sensing the situation, Congress high command has been sending feelers to them for the past few days. However, Vivek met TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao few days ago and later told mediamen that he would continue to work in the TRS party even in the future.

This sudden trip to New Delhi once again fuelled speculations whether they went to New Delhi to hold talks with Congress high command.
