Jogipet (Medak): “I won’t hesitate to send my son or daughter to prison if they indulge in corruption, as the main aspiration of TRS is to root out the menace,” declared KCR, while addressing the party’s ‘Vijayotsava Sabha’ here on Tuesday.

Departing from his usual rhetoric, KCR devoted his attention to the party policies and to explain its manifesto to the people. He singled out former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar C Rajanarasimha in his vituperative attack while sparing other Congress leaders. He accused Damoder of resorting to unprecedented corruption running into hundreds of crores.

The manifesto, he stated, was evolved specially in favour of farmers, students, women and other sections of society. Its stress was on free houses, each costing Rs 3 lakh, loan waiver for farmers’ up to Rs 1 lakh, free education from KG to PG. He promised to consider raising the capacity of Singur project for providing more water.

The TRS chief accused the Congress, which has been ruling the country for over 60 years, and the Telugu Desam of ‘robbing’ the people, particularly of Telangana. “The two parties failed to do anything for their welfare,” he added.

He asserted that the Telangana State was achieved thanks to the sustained agitation for 13 years with people’s cooperation. His goal was to transform it into ‘Bangaru Telangana’and ‘Akupachcha Telangana’. KCR sought the people’s cooperation to achieve the twin goals of the party. He ‘requested’ voters to opt for only those who worked with commitment for their welfare, while stressing that there should be no place in Telangana for parties which were under Seemandhra leadership.

The TRS chief alleged that the Telangana Congress leaders, who were reduced to puppets in the hands of those from Seemandhra, were out to indulge in more ‘looting’.

KCR expressed the confidence of TRS forming the government in Telangana and urged the people not to repay farm and housing loans. He assured 12per cent quota for Muslims and Girijans.

Prominent industrialist B V Patil and former Medak MLA Karanam Umadevi joined the TRS in the presence of KCR.
