Union Minister Jairam Ramesh notifies today’s cabinet decisions

1. Apex council for Krishna and Godavari water resources U/Sec 84/ 1. CM AP, CM Telangana & Central Water Minister are members of Approval of Water Allocation Dispute Settlement.

2. U/Sec 94 Tungabhadra board Telangana will be added to AP & KTK

3. Today, Cabinet approved the creation of posts for the board U/Sec 84/1:

2 Chairman

2 Member Secretaries

4 Chief Engineers

1 independent Expert

Appointed by GOI

Selection Chairman & Members, expert by GOI U/Sec 85/1 of AP RO Bill 2014.

People will be identified before Appointed Day.

4. Krishna Water Dispute Tribunal 2 Brijesh Kumar Tribunal extended till July 31st 2014 for the time being. If required further extension considered later.

KWDT 2 is in subjudice. U/Sec 89 of the act cabinet approved the extension of terms of reference.

Additional terms of references

Project wise specific allocation of water is recommended. It shall determine operational Protocal for project wise release of water in deficit year U/Sec 89 of the Act.

5. Establishment of a separate corporation for the Polavaram will be decided in next cabinet. Cabinet Note is ready.

No cabinet decision is required further in AP RO Bill 2014 except Polavaram Corporation.

Polavaram New Contracts will be Transparent & Non Political basis. Whatever were given earlier are given.
