Hyderabad: It is evident that early on Wednesday, Kasu Mahesh, a senior Congress Party leader, has disclosed that he can not contest for Lok Sabha from Narasaraopet constituency. Bowing to his decision, the congress party in its final list has announced the name of SD Zilani in place of Kasu Mahesh for ibid assembly constitution.

Nevertheless, it is learnt that even SD Zilani is not showing interest to contest in the polls. Saturday is the last day for poll nominations. If so is the case, Narasaraopet will go for polls without a Congress Party candidate?


Ever since the Congress Party has opted to go with state bifurcation to carve Telangana, the party was soiled in Seemandhra region. The party lost its whole cadre and facing a survival difficulty. Adding fuel to the fire, 2 constituents of the Congress Party whose names have been included in the Congress Party first list have shown discontentment to contest in polls on Congress Party ticket.

Kasu Mashesh, the Congress Party candidate from Narasaraopet constituency, and Kandru Kamala, the Congress Party candidate from Mangalagiri constituency, have declared on Wednesday that they are moving away from the fray. With this sudden shock, the Congress Party is not able to decide what to do in the looming elections.
