Hyderabad: The last meeting of the CPI State Executive in United Andhra Pradesh held here on Wednesday urged the Chief Minister-designates of the two States to lift ban on Naxalites. The meeting presided over by the Devarakonda MLA R Ravindra Kumar also asked the Naxalites to become part of the mainstream. Keeping in view the changing political situation at the national level, the leaders urged the Naxalites to shun violence and change strategy in order to strengthen secular forces. They recalled how TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao likened his agenda to that of the Naxals during the peak of the Telangana movement. They noted that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu also had ‘change of heart’ towards them. They should lift ban in their respective States, the CPI demanded.
