During his first visit to the state after taking over the reins of the party, BJP national president Amit Shah called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday morning.

He was accompanied by the party state president Kishen Reddy too. Shah said he had a lot of hope from Andhra Pradesh and asked the party cadre in AP to strengthen the party in the state.

Amit Shah and Chandrababu discussed the latest political developments in the state.

Shah slammed the Congress for the manner in which it bifurcated Andhra Pradesh.

"The Congress has a tradition of doing politics on every issue and dividing people and states... because of this, Andhra Pradesh was not bifurcated in the manner in which it should have been done," he said.

He welcomed the initiative of the chief ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to resolve all issues between the states through talks.
