“The people voted TDP to power, believing that Naidu would deliver on his poll promises to write off loans of farmers and DWCRA women. He also promised that he would increase social security pensions, provision of one job in each household, Rs 2,000 unemployment allowance,” he recalled.

But, Naidu had not delivered on even a single promise. The government was boasting of increasing the social security pensions by fivefold but at the same time framed the rules in such a tight-fisted manner that made eligible to secure benefits “hundred times difficult. He lambasted the government for failing to pay compensation to those displaced by the Hudhud cyclone.

“Instead of supporting the farmers by extending loan waiver and with declaring of MSP for paddy, the government is threatening the farmers with land acquisition if they fail to handover lands for the construction of capital city, he said. He assured the farmers farmers in Thulluru, Tadepalli and Mangalagiri mandals in Guntur district that he would stand by them in “this hour of great travail.”
