He was speaking at a one-day national-level workshop on ‘Advances in Materials, Manufacturing and Quality’ organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of JNTU-K on the university campus on Monday.

A K Mitra, former vice-president of Man-Force India Ltd, Prof GT Rao, retired scientist of ISRO and Prof R N Rao of NIT (Warangal) acted as resource persons in the workshop. Prof Udaya Bhaskar highlighted the advances in materials and elaborated on the developed products, which were reliable, affordable and applicable for the benefit of society.

Ch Sai Babu urged the gathering to enhance their technical skills by participating in workshops.

The officials of the university felicitated Prof Nikhil Gupta and AK Mitra on the occasion. Mementos were present to the guests. D Linga Raju proposed a vote of thanks. In the valedictory session, in-charge Vice-Chancellor Prof B Prabhakara Rao, Registrar Prof GVR Prasada Raju, Vice-Principal P Subba Rao took part.

They appreciated the efforts put forth by the officials of the Mechanical Department for the success of the workshop. D Linga Raju was the coordinator for the programme. Ch Sai Babu, DE, G Rangajanardhan, D-IST, M Ramalinga Raju, D-FUR, K Padma Raju, principal of UCE-K, B Bala Krishna, HoD (Mechanical), faculty members and students were present.
