Guntur: YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy had a brief stop at Chilakaluripeta in the district en route to his visit to Prakasham district on Thursday morning. Jagan Reddy was given a rousing reception by hundreds of party workers and leaders on the national high way at around 10 am.

He halted for a while in the house of YSRCP district president Marri Rajasekhar and held informal discussions with the party leaders and later left to Prakasham district. Among those who were present included YVSubba Reddy, Gop Reddy Srinivas, PRama Krishna Reddy, RK Mustaffa, Kodali Nani, Ambati Rambabu and L Appi Reddy.

Farmers from Thullur region also met Jagan Reddy and apprised him about the farmers’ unrest arising out of acquisition of lush green lands. Jagan who heard them sympathetically assured them that he would stand by them and also raise the issue in the Assembly once again.

Journos appeal Journalists of various establishments from Chilakluripet submitted a memorandum to opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy asking him to bring pressure on government to ensure justice to murdered journalist MVN Shankar. Jagan condemned the murder and assured the scribes that he would talk to government so that the case is handed over to the CBCID.
