Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his disappointment over the Union Railway Budget and hoped that the injustice meted out to the State in terms of new trains, allocations for the pending and new railway projects would be addressed in the supplementary proposals. Addressing a press conference late on Thursday, he said that he was disappointed with the budget in which the much hoped creation of separate Railway Zone for Visakhapatnam did not find place in the budget.

However, he said the railway budget seems to have focused more on providing better services, improvement of stations and other infrastructure. Naidu said, “I will take up the issue with the Centre on the pending projects and sanction of new railway line and introduction of new trains for the State.” The State had asked specifically for new train from Vijayawada to Delhi, and introduction of new trains connecting Vijayawada with the State capitals of other States but nothing of the sort has been announced, Naidu added.
