Hyderabad: A history of sorts will be made on Saturday when the Budget session of Telangana and AP would commence in the same premises on Saturday and would conclude on March 27. Governor ESL Narsimhan would deliver his address to both the houses of Telangana State at 11 am.
As the ruling TRS and the opposition Congress and TDP are gearing up to corner the government on the yet to be implemented poll promises. Sources do not rule out the possibility of TDP members raising the issue even as the Governor would be delivering his address to both the houses. The TTDP which met here in the evening has decided to take on the TRS on several issues. The TTDP, TBJP as well as the T Congress leaders do not rule out the possibility of pandemonium on the problems related to people and welfare schemes.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, during the two-hour Cabinet meet on Thursday, asked his colleagues to be ready to reply with complete information to the Opposition on various important issues. KCR also asked the Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao to see that the budget session continued in a smooth manner, even if the Opposition tried to create some disturbance.
While Congress leaders Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and Sampath criticised the government for not keeping its promises, BJP floor leader Dr K Lakshman said they would pull up the ruling party on people’s issues. According to Harish Rao, the government was ready to take on the opposition criticism and allegations in the session.
The Opposition parties should play a constructive role instead of trying to corner the ruling party or create ruckus. The government is ready to discuss all issues related to the people. He appealed to the opposition parties to make use of their time for smooth conduct of the session. We are not going back on taking up the peoples' problems and find solutions with the cooperation of the other parties in the House, he said.
He also said that the TRS MLAs, MLCs will pay homage to Telangana martyrs at Gun Park at 9.30 am and then attend the budget session The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) would meet after the Governor’s address to finalise the business schedule.
