According to the higher officials in Rajahmundry, the 12-day Godavari Pushkaralu festival generated Rs 250 crore business in the city with an average of 20 lakh devotees making a visit per day during the festivities.

Each devotee is said to have spent Rs 200 in the city. Business zoomed for private buses, provision stores, hotels and the retail stores. It may be noted that free transport was offered to passengers in Visakhapatnam bound buses by the APSRTC.
