Srikakulam: Labour Minister, K Atchannaidu made scathing remarks against Congress leaders and YSRCP president, YS Jaganmohan Reddy for indulging in cheap tricks and making all efforts to create rift between BJP and TDP.

Speaking to media on Sunday at Kotabommali mandal headquarter as part of Chandranna Seva programme, Minister slammed Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi besides N Raghuveera Reddy and Chiranjeevi for indulging in cheap tricks to revive their party.

“Deceased Koti interacted with Congress leaders Raghuveera and Chiranjeevi before the incident and they might have provoked him,” alleges Minister. He said Congress leaders from the State remained silent on special status to AP during bifurcation and suggested that the party leaders, Raghuveera and Chiranjeevi better sacrifice their lives for the mistakes they committed, Minister added.

YSRCP president, YS Jaganmohan Reddy is not criticising Telangana CM, KCR even though he is creating hurdles to the progress of AP, Atchannaidu pointed out. Jagan is lobbying with Centre to withdraw cases against him through KCR, he charged.

TDP succeeded in solving ten issues relating to state division and making continuous efforts to get special status and packages but Congress and YSRCP are trying to create rift between BJP and TDP for their existence in the state Atchannaidu alleged.

Congress party provoking people: Palle

Anantapur: While expressing deep shock over the death of Munikoti, who immolated himself demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh at Tirupati on Saturday, IT Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy accused the Congress leaders of abetting innocent youth to commit suicides.

He extended his condolences to the kin of the victim. He alleged that the Congress party, which had split the State by bulldozing all the objections and hurting the sentiments of Telugu people, was responsible for the death of Munikoti.

He demanded that cases should be registered against the Congress leaders for inflaming the emotions of people. He assured that the State government was trying for special status and called upon the youth not to resort to extreme steps.

BJP committed to special status

Vijayawada: The Central government is still committed to special status to AP, said BJP general secretary P Muralidhara Rao. He also said the Union government would take responsibility for the development of Andhra Pradesh and extend necessary financial support.

Speaking to media, here on Sunday, BJP leader said that Modi government is keen on providing freedom to States in implementing various welfare schemes on its own. He said as per the recommendations of 14th Finance Commission the Central government would allocate more funds for development of States.

Talking about strengthening BJP in AP, he said that a four-month training programme would be organised for 15 lakh members to strengthen the party, while continuing alliance with TDP.
