More than 2000 workers of YSRCP were taken into custody in Srikakulam. At many places, the YSRCP leaders and the police entered into heated arguments. However, the bandh has been peaceful so far and there were no reports of any major incidents except police ill-treatment at some places.

The activists of the YSRCP tried to stop the movement of APSRTC buses and raised slogans against the Central and State governments. Schools and other business establishments remained closed at several places.
