Nature conservation is everyone\'s duty: APPCB engineer. Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) Joint Chief Environmental Engineer NV Bhaskar Rao has called for concerted efforts to protect the planet.
Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) Joint Chief Environmental Engineer NV Bhaskar Rao has called for concerted efforts to protect the planet. Speaking at a seminar on ‘Preserve Planet Earth’ organised by the Gora Science Centre, in association with Rotary Club of Vijayawada Mid Town, at Atheist Centre on Wednesday, he said protection of the planet was the responsibility of every individual.
“The rapid change in the climate is a matter of grave concern. People should desist from indulging in activities that contribute to environmental degradation. Conservation of nature and resources should be done at individual level to achieve better results. Children can also participate in the environmental protection campaign by planting a sapling, setting up a sparrow nest in the backyard of the house, raising a pet and learning more about nature,” he said.
Later, the APPCB engineer along with former MP Chennupati Vidya gave away prizes to the winners of essay writing and painting competitions organised on September 16 to mark the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. Gora Science Centre director G Niyanta, Rotary Club of Vijayawada Mid Town president G Srinivasa Rao and others were also present.
