Lingapalem (West Godavari): Minister for Women and Child Welfare and Mining Peethala Sujatha said that ‘Mee Intiki–Mee Bhoomi’ programme aims to bring transparency in land records and also helps in curbing irregularities in sale and purchase of lands.

The Minister formally inaugurated the second phase of ‘Mee Intiki–Mee Bhoomi’ programme at Lingapalem village on Monday. She handed over 1-B account books to the beneficiaries and aid from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to three persons.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said apart from bringing in transparency, digitisation would provide the government with exact data on the ownership of land. She hailed the government’s initiative as historic. The Minister said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is keen on modernising revenue system in the State. She said as part of the programme, the government has been distributing title deeds and e-passbooks to the farmers.

She said so far the district administration has sanctioned 1B account books to 5,11,585 farmers in the district and e-passbooks to 28,809 farmers. She said that 70 per cent of land has been acquired for the construction of the Chintalapudi Lift Irrigation Scheme (CLIS). She assured the people that the project would supply water for irrigation of two lakh acres.

District Collector K Bhaskar said because of the digitisation of land records, the farmers need not make rounds of Tahsildar office, as they can avail their land details at the click of a button. He said that the farmers can rectify the mistakes in their land records by applying through MeeSeva centres.

The Collector said a toll-free number 1800-233-1077 has been set up to receive complaints regarding land issues from people. Eluru RDO Namburi Tej Bharath, Lingapalem ZPTC member Pedababu and others took part in the programme.
