Hyderabad: The AP power utilities are fully geared up and putting in all-out efforts to restore the power supply on a war footing in the cyclone-affected areas of Chittoor and Nellore districts. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who has been closely monitoring the relief and restoration activities, directed the officials to conduct survey in all affected areas for quick restoration of power.

During teleconference on the damage caused by the cyclone Roval to the power infrastructure and power supply situation in several districts in State, particularly Nellore and Chittoor, the Energy department Secretary Ajay Jain told the Chief Minister that more than 90 per cent of restoration works have been completed and assured the completion of the remaining works soon.

K Vijayanand, chairman of AP Transco informed that Special Centralised Breakdown (CBD) teams have been deployed in Nellore and Chittoor districts for restoration of power supply.

The extra high voltage substations (132KV and above) could sustain the cyclone and heavy rainfall and the 400KV Chittoor-Krishnapatnam feeder, which tripped due to ground fault was charged duly conducting all tests.
