The city has come under the highest security cover for the three day Partnership Summit, which is beginning here from Sunday onwards. Around 1400 delegates, including 350 from 37 foreign countries,and some trade ministers of some countries, are participating in the business get together.

The city police has been coordinating with the Indian Coast Guard, Eastern Naval Command of Indian Navy and Coastal Security Police for on and off shore security. Giving details about the arrangements, Commissioner of Police Amit Garg said after Pathankot incident, they are taking additional measures to avoid any untoward incident.
Around 8,000 force will be on security, while 2,000 force of all major banks put together will man the event. "The on-shore will be taken care by the civil police of all wings assisted by elite forces such as the Greyhounds and the Octopus, while the Navy, ICG and CSP will be on surveillance of Bay, Garg said.
He said around 30 CCTV cameras have been installed at the APIIC grounds, which is the main venue of the event, where a command centre was also established to monitor the traffic as well as security.
Similarly, 47 CCTV cameras have been installed at major junctions through which the VIP would be moving. The Commissioner said advisory notes would be given to the delegates and others taking part in the summit to take some preventive steps.
Guards will be there round-the- clock at their place of stay, and security in the tourist spots is also in place. Police picketing is being continued at strategic points by the Armed cops, while as many as 12 check posts have been set up at the entry-exit points of the city.
