AU Rector Narayana appointed as In-charge VC

Visakhapatnam: In-charge Secretary of Andhra Pradesh State Higher Education RP Sisodia issued orders appointing Andhra University Rector Prof EA Narayana as In-charge Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University here on Thursday.

Vice-Chancellor Prof GSN Raju, who received the orders from the government, congratulated Prof Narayana who assumed charge on Thursday. It may be noted that the three-year term of Prof Raju as Vice-Chancellor came to an end on Thursday.

He authored six books, 90 research papers and 14 research scholars have obtained doctorates and nine M Phil degrees under his supervision. Speaking on the occasion, the new In-charge Vice-Chancellor assured that he will strive for the development of the varsity with the help of teaching and non-teaching staff and to continue the academic legacy of Prof Raju and other seniors.

MoU for IIPE
Earlier, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been reached between Andhra University and the Indian Institute of Petroleum Energy to set up the institute at the Andhra University College of Engineering here on Thursday. The MoU was signed by Andhra University Registrar Prof V Umamaheswara Rao and HPCL, Visakh Refinery Executive Director Ganesh on behalf of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The institute will be run in the Andhra University temporarily for three years for which necessary class rooms and labs will be arranged by the Andhra University.
