The regional centres would come up in Kurnool, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati. The decision of the government comes as Andhra Pradesh had written a letter to the Telangana government requesting to set up regional centres for Eamcet.

Earlier, the State government which was apprehensive about the security of question papers had decided to set up regional centres in the bordering districts with Andhra Pradesh.“The Andhra Pradesh government has requested the Telangana government to set up regional centres.

Security and other issues will be dealt at government level,” said a senior official of Telangana State Council of Higher Education.While the Council said that it would conduct online mode of entrance exam for agriculture and medical in Warangal and Hyderabad only, it is now intending to have online mode in AP centres too.

This year, there is huge demand from AP students for medical seats in Telangana state. As many as 7,358 candidates from Andhra University region and 5,903 from Sri Venkateswara University have applied for the agriculture and medical stream till the last count on Tuesday. A total of 2,218 applications from Andhra University region and 1,493 applications from Sri Venkateswara University were received for engineering stream.
