Former Union Minister A Sai Pratap on Thursday joined the ruling Telugu Desam Party(TDP) in the presence of party president and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. Sai Pratap served as a member of Parliament as a Congress leader for six terms from Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency in Kadapa district.
He was the Union Minister of State for Steel in the UPA 2 government, that was headed by Manmohan Singh and quit the Congress protesting the bifurcation of AP in 2014. Speaking on the occasion, the former Congress MP wished to witness development in all the fields and work towards the development of his constituency and the state with support from the Chief Minister.
