Inter-State burglar gang arrested
Jangareddigudem police have arrested a notorious gang of inter-State burglars, who had broken into houses across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Saturday, Additional Superintendent of Police N Chandrasekhar said the police had picked up the accused Kambapu Venkataramana (24), Sunkara Pavan Kumar (30), Ambati arish (22), SK Mohammad Ahmad (24) and Lagu Rajesh (23) in connection with serial burglaries that had rocked Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in house burglaries in Chintalapudi, Jangareddigudem, Bhadrachalam, Koyyalagudem, Polavaram, Lakkavaram and Rajahmahendravaram. “The accused used to burgle houses and hand over the booty to Lagu Rajesh at Jangareddigudem.
Rajesh used to mortgage the stolen jewellery with Muthoot Finance and distribute the amount among them,” the ASP explained. He said Lakkavaram police seized 54.50 sovereigns of gold ornaments and 250 gms of silver articles and 2 motorcycles, all worth Rs 15 lakh from the accused.
The ASP congratulated Lakkavaram police team for its speedy action. Jangareddigudem DSP J Venkatrao, CI G Srinivasa Rao and Lakkavaram SI V Srinivas were also present at the press conference.
