1,500 water kiosks set up in Kurnool
About 1,500 water kiosks have been set up in 54 Mandals of the district to quench the thirst of pedestrians and road users in the searing summer. In a statement here on Wednesday, District Collector Ch Vijaymohan said drinking water and buttermilk were being supplied at the kiosks.

Pandals were erected at busy centres in the city to provide a cool shade to people visiting the district headquarters for different reasons. The Vaidya Vidhana Parishad, in coordination with the Revenue and Municipal Administration Departments, took several measures to prevent sunstroke deaths in the district.
As many as 5,153 medical camps were conducted in different parts of the district and 1.5 lakh ORS packets were distributed. Buttermilk is being supplied to NREGA workers at work sites, the Collector said, urging people to take all precautions to protect themselves from the scorching sun while venturing out as part of their daily routine.
