Vijayawada: Members of Congress party led by City Congress Committee president and former MLA Malladi Vishnu took out a candle rally at Satyanarayanapuram in Vijayawada on Saturday demanding Special Status to the State.
The rally started from Sivaji Café and went round several areas of Satyanarayanapuram. Speaking on the occasion, Malladi Vishnu said that Special Status is the right of Andhra people. He said that both the BJP and TDP deceived the people of Andhra Pradesh by denying Special Status to the State by dodging the issue for two years. He said that the BJP and TDP blamed the Congress party for State bifurcation. Now, the BJP government made it clear that there is no Special Status to the State.
The Congress leader said that both Narendra Modi and Chandrababu Naidu promised to get Special Status to the State and they failed to fulfil their election promise. He found fault with the TDP’s wait and watch policy on Special Status.
The Congress members raised slogans in support of Special Status by stating that Special Status is the right of Andhras.
