APSYF protests for special status

Vijayawada: Activists of the Andhra Pradesh Student and Youth Federation (APSYF) staged a half-naked protest at Alankar Centre here on Wednesday, demanding Special Status for AP.
As part of the protest, the APSYF activists knelt down and raised slogans against the Narendra Modi Government for its failure to fulfill the promise made by the previous UPA regime at the time of bifurcation of the State. The slogan of ‘Pratyeka Hoda - Andhrula Hakku’ rent the air.
Speaking on the occasion, APSYF founder-president Navaneetham Sambasiva Rao flayed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his ‘double standards’ on the Special Status issue. The Chief Minister had failed to mount pressure on the BJP-led NDA Government for implementation of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act in toto. The APSYF would intensify its agitation for Special Status, which is a must for the all-round development of the residual AP, he said. APSYF State president Paruchuri Rajendra Babu, general secretary Lanka Govindarajulu and others spoke denouncing the ‘indifference’ of the Centre to AP’s demand for Special Status.

Amaravati: Leaders under the banner of Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi staged a protest at GMC Guest House centre in Guntur city on Wednesday, to mount pressure on the State and Central governments to give Special Status to AP and keep election promises. Addressing the gathering, the samithi president, YV Suresh, said that if AP gets Special Status, entrepreneurs would get concessions so that investments pour into State. He urged the Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, to mount pressure on the Centre to get Special Status to AP. The samithi members J Murali, N Sasank, Mallikarjuna Rao and Chenaiah were among those participated.
