Hyderabad: Employees of Secretariat and other departments, who will be shifting from Hyderabad to Amaravati, would continue to get 30 per cent house rent allowance.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday revised the pay-scales to this effect ahead of the shifting of employees from Hyderabad to Amaravati from June 27, thus conceding one of the four major demands of the employees.

The government order said that the revised pay of allowing 30 per cent of HRA being drawn on basic pay by the employees of the state secretariat and HoD offices in Hyderabad would continue to get the same even after shifting to Amaravati.

The relief given was for a period of one year and a maximum of Rs 20,000 on the basic pay. The revised pay however would not apply to the CRDA staff and other local staff working in the Amaravati region, it said.
