Arrest Hetero promoters: CPM
One person died and three sustained injuries in the Wednesday’s mishap at Hetero Drugs in Nakkapalle on Wednesday. In a letter to chief secretary SP Tucker, Sarma alleged that Hetero Drugs is also a polluting unit and the APPCB officials are in collusion with the management.
Visakhapatnam: The district unit of CPM and former civil servant EAS Sarma demanded the arrest of promoters of Hetero Drugs and suspension of safety officials of the Directorate of Safety holding them responsible for the series of mishaps that have taken place during the last few years in the district.
One person died and three sustained injuries in the Wednesday’s mishap at Hetero Drugs in Nakkapalle on Wednesday.
In a letter to chief secretary SP Tucker, Sarma alleged that Hetero Drugs is also a polluting unit and the APPCB officials are in collusion with the management.
Sarma told the chief secretary that at least the State could arrest the promoter of Hetero Drugs and prosecute him under the IPC. Secondly, the senior officers of both the Directorate of Safety and APPCB should be suspended and a departmental inquiry should be ordered.
District secretary of CPM K Lokanadham said due to lack of safety measures in the company, the workers were always feeling insecure about their safety. He demanded an inquiry into the incident and ex-gratia to the family members of deceased worker Sikala Appa Rao.
