Rajamahendravaram: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been resorting to a vicious campaign with regard to Special Category Status (SCS) and warned that he has face the wrath of the people, CPI district secretary Tatipaka Madhu said here on Tuesday. He took part in the people’s ballot held on the call given by the CPI state committee at Kotgummam centre here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Madhu said that the threatening students on SCS are insulting democracy and the Constitution. Naidu who got votes by promising SCS to the State for 15 years alleged that he is now putting Special Package ahead of SCS. He mentioned that TDP industrialists and people’s representatives invested a lot in the States where SCS is being implemented and criticised that the same people are cheating the people of the State. He made it clear that SCS is panacea for the educated youth of the State who are struggling due lack of employment. He observed that the Centre did not give clarity on the Special Package in its website. He demanded for special packages for Rayalaseema and North Andhra coastal districts.

CPI State committee member Meesala Satyannarayana said that the State suffered a lot due to the bifurcation and found fault with the NDA government for failing to implement assurances made in the State Re-organisation act. Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Chandrababu Naidu failed to keep their poll promises, he added. He criticised the Chief Minister for threatening the students of imprisonment after compromising with the Centre with regard to SCS. CPI city secretary Nalla Rama Rao also spoke on the occasion.
