The controversy over Swiss Challenge method adopted by the Andhra Pradesh State government in awarding contracts for construction of the core area of its new capital Amaravati came to an end on Wednesday when government informed the High Court at Hyderabad that it had decided to withdraw the tender notification and that it would redo the whole exercise.

​Hyderabad: The controversy over Swiss Challenge method adopted by the Andhra Pradesh State government in awarding contracts for construction of the core area of its new capital Amaravati came to an end on Wednesday when government informed the High Court at Hyderabad that it had decided to withdraw the tender notification and that it would redo the whole exercise.

Andhra Pradesh Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas informed the division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice A Shankar Narayana that the government would issue a fresh tender notification inviting request for proposal (RFP) from eligible firms again.

He said with this decision of the government, the two writ petitions filed by Aditya Housing Company and another challenging the tender notification issued by the State in this regard would be rendered infructuous.

The bench accordingly closed the Writ petitions and recording the statement of the AG and disposed of the writ appeal filed by the AP government.
