Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that people will reject outright the main opposition party in the next election if it did not change its destructive approach.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Naidu without naming the party he said it would lose its status and disappear if it continues its destructive approach and called it as atrocious. It was all because some support they got, gave it the opposition tag he said chiding a section of the media also which he said too was supporting it (opposition).

CM in an hour-long media conference in a most patient manner mainly dwelled at length on the salient features of Polavaram Project which he said is a massive exercise and also added that such magnificent project may not come in the future in the country.

In an apparent move to carry along the media to project his government achievement on Polavaram Project and also other irrigation projects and getting a whopping Rs 1,981 crore assistance from NABARD yesterday and to counter the opposition propaganda against his government and the project, he gave the full detail of the project based on a booklet and also directed the Collector to give a copy of the 8-page booklet to media members.

``I want the media in Tirupati also should know the truth so that you can explain it to the people who are aware of the evil designs of the opposition’’ he said.

They (opposition party) incited the farmers to stall Polavaram Project and approached court after they failed in their first attempt and also petitioned to Green Tribunal. Later, they went to other States Odissa and Chhattisagarh to instigate the people there against the dam construction which is atrocious, he added.

Naidu also gave a detailed narration which is more or less a status report on the progress of all the irrigation projects in Rayalaseema and also North Coastal Andhra and claimed that if all the projects were completed, the State will be a drought free one including Rayalseema ending the rowdyism and faction fights there.

He said that the proposed Muchanur irrigation project would be more beneficial in the sense if the Pothireddypadu failed to release water due to low water level in Srisailam dam, water can be drawn for supply to the schemes including Handri-Neeva, Galeru-Nagari, Telugu Ganga benefitting all the districts of Rayalseema.

The Chief Minister said that the second phase of Galeru-Nagari will also be taken up soon for completion benefitting Chittoor district.
