Visakhapatnam: The present recognised Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Staff and Workers’ Union promised the corporation employees and workers that it would establish Employees’ Welfare Board if it comes to power for the second consecutive term in the ensuing recognised union elections.
Addressing the union members here on Sunday, union secretary general V V Vamana Rao said with setting up of Welfare Board, the GVMC have to pay full wages to the ailing employees or workers who are on leave.
He claimed that the VMC Union soon after coming to power has taken steps for the distribution of uniforms and wage slips to the workers.
Union president P Ramesh disclosed that the union has taken the initiative for opening of PF accounts to all workers besides sanctioning of petrol allowance to the field staff.
