Speaking to presspersons at district collectorate on Saturday the collector explained in detail about various salient aspects in the execution of works under this scheme. The collector said in total 165 lakh work days were completed and an average of Rs 149 per day was paid to wage earners.
In total CC roads to the extent of 531 km was laid as part for road connectivity and link roads in rural areas. Under NTR Jalasiri programme in total 1,102 bore wells were sunk in various mandals for the benefit of 1600 farmers to the extent of 3500 acres of agriculture land.
The collector said that under this programme in all 106 panchayat buildings were constructed out of the target of 226 in the district. As far as provision of own buildings for Anganwadi centres, 106 buildings were completed out of the target of 226 at district level the collector said.
Under open defecation free [ODF [programme in total 519 villages were brought under this category out of 1069 panchayats in the district. The collector on this occasion said that by expediting the construction of individual toilets, the district authorities were planning to cover all the 1069 villages as ODF villages by Independence Day this year.
