Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu vowed to bring back past glory to Dwcra groups. He directed the group leaders to convene a meeting with members and officials before May 14 and prepare an action plan to increase the income of each family up to Rs 10,000. He wanted Dwcra groups to take initiative to improve skills and provide basic education to members.

The Chief Minister conducted a review meeting of Dwcra groups along with Minister for civil supplies Paritala Sunitha at Secretariat in Velagapudi on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, the lamented that Dwcra groups, which were role model for women empowerment programmes in the country, were neglected in the past decade.
Naidu said that the government has been planning to increase the revenue of each family up to Rs 10,000 and provide skill development programmes to 71 lakh Dwcra women. He asserted that the government has been giving priority to Dwcra women in implementation of state-sponsored programmes.
CEO of Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) P Krishnamohan said that 50 lakh Dwcra women depend on agriculture. He informed that Bharatiya Agro Industries Foundation has been helping to improve the revenue of women. On the occasion, the Chief Minister directed the officials to make arrangements to provide franchise of Patanjali products to Dwcra groups and marketing facilities to handicrafts. He said the women groups should be provided an opportunity in textile sector.
Secretary of BC Welfare G Anantaramu, social welfare and tribal welfare secretaries Rawat and Sisodia and others were present. In another review meeting with officials Naidu instructed the officials to make preparations for kharif works.
