Vijayawada: Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi (PHSS) president Chalasani Srinivas alleged that the government failed secure state’s share in combined assets in Hyderabad under section 108 in AP Reorganisation Act.In protest against the government’s lethargy, the members of PHSS would sit on hunger strike for 96 hours at Dharna Chowk, here from Tuesday, besides demanding the Central government to extend the provisions of section 108 in the AP Reorganisation Act up to June 2019, as it would expire on June 1, 2017.

Addressing the media persons at Press Club, here on Monday, he said that the Union and state governments should implement all provisions of AP Reorganisation Act including, Special Category Status (SCS), special funds to backward district, employees issues and other concerns.

He reminded that the state government wrote a letter to Centre for extension of powers President to intervene and resolve disputes between Telugu states under section 108 in the AP Reorganisation Act. Mocking that the government failed to get even Rs 1 of state’s share in combined assets from Telangana,

he condemned the Telangana police highhandedness at Nagarjuna Sagar Right Canal, while releasing of water from Sagar dam. He mentioned that professors, students and intellectuals would participate in the 96 hour hunger strike on Tuesday. AAP state convener P Ramu, CPI city secretary D Shankar and others were present.
