The election for recognised trade union in the BHEL Vizag unit (erstwhile BHPV) will be held on June 17 for which four main trade union panels were contesting.Election observer Syamsunder, who allotted poll symbols to the contesting panels, informed that they could continue poll campaign up to June 15.

Visakhapatnam: The election for recognised trade union in the BHEL Vizag unit (erstwhile BHPV) will be held on June 17 for which four main trade union panels were contesting.

Election observer Syamsunder, who allotted poll symbols to the contesting panels, informed that they could continue poll campaign up to June 15. The four union panels include BHPV National Employees’ Union (INTUC) with the poll symbol of rising sun, United Front (TNTUC) with the symbol of rose, BHPV Employees’ Union (CITU) with the symbol of bell and the BHPV Karmika Sangh (BMS) with the symbol of ‘kaagada’.

While the INTUC has proposed Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy as its honorary president, United Front proposed Yellaiah, the CITU proposed Ch Narasinga Rao and BMS banner panel proposed Anguswami as honorary presidents. The election observer said that counting will begin soon after the completion of the polling and the union leaders began the poll campaign from Sunday.
