Vijayawada: Representatives of various Women’s Organisations on Thursday demanded that the NDA government must pass Women Reservation Bill as per the assurances given by the political parties.

Women leaders attended a round table conference conducted by All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA) at MBVK Bhan have demanded that the Women Reservations Bill should be introduced in the Parliament immediately and pass it unconditionally.

AIDWA state president B Prabhavati alleged the NDA government was neglecting the prepoll promise on the passing Women Reservations Bill. She has alleged the previous UPA government had also neglected it. AIDWA state secretary D Ramadevi has said all political parties are giving false assurances to women voters and ignoring later after coming to power.

She recalled the Women reservation Bill was introduced in Parliament in 1996 and passed in Rajya Sabha in 2010 but it was not passed in Lok Sabha due to political reasons.
