Laying the foundation stone for BRS Med City at Dondapadu village limits, here on Thursday, he said that the capital would get place in top five cities in the world by overcoming the cities like Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad in development.
“Air services from Emirates will be introduced soon at Gannavaram Airport,” he informed. Recalling that first International flight, which came to Hyderabad was from Emirates and changed the fate of the city.
“Youth need not to go abroad for higher studies or employment. All the opportunities will be provided in Amaravati,” he asserted. Expressing confidence on future developments, Naidu said the people would come to Amaravati for opportunities from various countries.
“Several reputed universities started their operations in Amaravati. International schools also will start their operations soon. Indo-UK Medical Foundation will launch its operations by August. As many as 13 medical varsities are in the capital region along with proposed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Medical University, 1,000-bed hospital, 200-bed multi-specialty hospital, knowledge centre, international school, three star hotel will be set up in BR Med City,” he explained.
Naidu said that government would spend Rs 15,300 crore to provide basic infrastructure in the lands which were taken from farmers for capital city. The Chief Minister said the government had given administrative sanctions to construct 4,000 houses in Amaravati for officials, MLAs, ministers and other staff.
BR Shetty chairman of BRS Med City said that they would invest Rs 6,500 crore in Amaravati capital city. He said that he selected Amaravati for his plans as he has confidence in Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership by recalling his previous track record. He announced free medical aid for local people in his hospital. Minister P Pulla Rao, MLA T Sravan Kumar, CRDA commissioner Ch Sridhar and several officials were also present.
