Guntur: The state government is committed to improve the education system in the state, said Minister for Civil Supplies P Pulla Rao. Hence, 1,70,000 teachers were recruited, he reminded.

He was speaking at the launching of membership drive of Telugunadu Upadhya Sangham (TNUS) at the Telugu Desam Party office here on Tuesday. He said that the Chief Minister implemented the long pending unified service rules for the teachers and it helped thousands of them to avail promotions and to impart better education in the schools. The Minister appealed the teachers to join the TNUS.

Dr AS Ramakrishna, MLC, said that CH Pinakapani, state associate secretary of TNUS, will be the convenor for the union’s membership drive in Guntur district. Mannava Subba Rao, chairman of chilli yard, A Mohana Rao, founder president of TNUS, and others participated in the programme.
