The Seventh South India invitational Kenyu-Ryu Karate championship competitions commenced at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on Saturday.  Chief gust Chintalapudi Venkataramaiah and film actor Ambati Srinivas Reddy inaugurated the two-day tournament. 


Visakhapatnam: The Seventh South India invitational Kenyu-Ryu Karate championship competitions commenced at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on Saturday. Chief gust Chintalapudi Venkataramaiah and film actor Ambati Srinivas Reddy inaugurated the two-day tournament.

All amenities have been provided to the coaches and sportspersons under the aegis of the chief coach Suman. Chintalapudi wished that the Indian contingent for the 2020 contingent should include sports persons from the steel city.

He welcomed the sportspersons arrived here from various parts of the country – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Telangana and others. Honorary president of the AP Kenyu-Ryu Karate-Do Association Dr Karanamreddy Narasinga Rao, honorary president of the district unit of the association Puchcha Vijaya Kumar and India Chief of the association PK Gireesh and others took part in the inaugural ceremony.
